Things I build, learn from, and keep improving.

Welcome to my website, where I share a selection of projects and other interests. It is as much for you, the visitor, as it is for me: a place that gives me even more motivation to build projects and share them with others. Enjoy!

AI & automation

Small systems that help me structure my thoughts and protect my attention.

01Personal knowledge management

Connected notes, without extensive manual mapping.

I built this personal knowledge repository to keep my books, ideas, and long-form notes in one connected place. Every new note used to mean manually finding links and mapping it into the graph; now I can send a thought about a book to a Telegram bot, and the workflow adds it to the right book or creates a new one, formats it, and connects it to relevant nodes. It helps me keep collecting ideas and make sense of what I read without interrupting the process to do admin work.

02Anki hands-free review

Reviewing vocabulary, even when my hands are busy.

I started learning Korean around 2023 and have been learning ever since, and I use Anki on a daily basis for my vocabs. Sometimes though, I would like to continue reviewing even though I don't have my hands free. And while Anki has voice features, they only work well if I create a voice file for each and every card, which would take a lot of time. So, I build my own tool that uses a speech recognition model for my answer as well as for which rating the card should receive, and with the help of community-built Anki Connect I can synchronise the cards with Anki Web.

n8n workflow for a morning briefing
03Personal productivity

Starting the day with infos, but without mental clutter.

For a while, I tried not to touch my phone for the first two or three hours after waking up. It was nice not to get pulled into different apps, but it also meant missing my calendar and the things I had planned. So I built an n8n workflow that collects the weather, important new emails, tasks, and other useful context into one Telegram message. In the morning I only open one app—one I mostly use to talk to bots—and get the information I need without getting distracted before the day has even started.

04Personalized recommendations / news

Trying to be selective about what reaches me.

A while ago, I stopped using the YouTube homepage because it was just too easy to click on videos I never meant to watch. I installed an extension that sends me straight to my subscriptions, which worked and still works really well for me. But there are obviously topics, channels, and interesting videos that I cannot see.

By using my own "algorithm", I tried to tackle this issue: one workflow "encodes" the educational and informational content I consume in a database on a weekly basis, so that I can use a second workflow to give me bi-daily recommendations for new channels, videos that align with the content I consume, or simply new topics I might be interested in. Separately, a workflow sends me the most recent AI news each morning, again, to put my focus on just a few things. I'm not saying I beat YouTube's algorithm, but for me, this approach works really well so far.

02 — Digital products

Digital products

Practical digital products—from internal tools to mobile applications and a clearer view of everyday data.

05Personal dashboard

Getting a better overview over my income and expenses.

I built this private dashboard because I already track every payment coming in and out through Notion, but wanted more freedom in how I see the data. It connects to my Notion income and expense databases and loads the current version every time I open it, which gives me a much clearer sense of where my money is going without making the process more complicated. All values are blurred by design; this is about having a better overview, not sharing private numbers.

06Student internship · Appcomm

A CRM built from first idea to shipped product.

During my student internship at Appcomm, a software company in the Netherlands, I worked with a team of interns on a CRM for customer management and communication. We took it from its first concept and product design through to implementation—defining workflows, designing the interface, and building the application.

07University project · Android

A social network for finding your people in a new place.

As one of our larger university projects, we designed and built an Android application that connects people through shared interests. It has the familiar idea of a social network, but is made for people who have just moved somewhere new and want to meet others around them. The focus is on turning a new place into a more social one.
